My Story

Years ago, when my family first embarked on our real food journey, I was completely overwhelmed.  I didn’t know where to start!

I desperately wanted to feed my family (and myself!) real foods that would nourish our bodies, but this new way of cooking felt a bit foreign.  All the convenience foods we’d formerly relied on were no longer an option, which left me with lots of questions about what to prepare for family meals.

So I dug in, and over time, I learned to prepare simple, real food meals for my growing family.  And when I realized that the way I cooked real foods in my own kitchen could be helpful to other people too, I started sharing my recipes and food tips through my blog!

I created yankeehomestead.com as a way to equip people with recipes and tools that would help make their healthy lifestyle a little more streamlined and a little less stressful, just as they have done for my family and me!
