It’s true! These adorable pants for cloth diapers really do fit over those big, fluffy bums. They’re also great over regular disposable diapers.

Do These Pants Make My Butt Look Big?

One of the things no one remembers to tell you about cloth diapering–or maybe they did and the words slipped right through the cracks of my pregnancy brain–is that regular pants will not fit over your baby’s adorably huge rear end.

Baby Brother followed two older brothers, which means he inherited a boat load of hand me downs.  This is great, except that his cloth diapered hind parts are significantly larger than those of his predecessors.

I happen to be a sucker for cute, matching outfits from Gymboree.  Now that we’re cloth diapering, I’ve found that Baby Brother’s pants need to be sized up.  In other words, when the shirts from his cute, matching, hand me down ensembles fit his torso, the corresponding pants are a bit snug.

Consequently, he often wears pants that fit correctly (one size up) with a baggy matching shirt. We just roll up the sleeves and move on.

And then one day, I discovered this amazing concept: Grow With Me Pants.  Have you heard of them?  They go by various names such as Maxaloones, Monster Bunz, etc.

Grow-with-me-pants are just what they sound like: adjustable pants with a roomy rear that fit perfectly over cloth diapers.  They work just as well over non cloth diapered bums as well.

The waist and legs of Maxaloone pants can be folded over to fit a smaller baby, or to create a different look.  Unfold the waist to provide extra warmth for baby, or to fit a larger baby.  As baby grows, unfold the leg cuffs to make the pants longer.

If you’re handy with a sewing machine, I’ve heard Monster Bunz are easy to make.  If–like myself–you’re no seamstress, there are plenty of sellers on etsy.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Cindy from Cinderkitten on etsy.  We received one adorable pair of Dinosaur Monster Bunz from Cinderkitten, size 3-18 months, to review here at Yankee Homestead.

I love them!

6 Things I Love About Monster Bunz:

1.  Adorable: With or without cloth diapers, these pants are stinkin’ cute.

2.  Adjustable: The fold-over waist band and leg cuffs mean they’ll fit your baby much longer than regular baby clothes.

3.  Stretchy: Made of flexible cotton/lycra, these pants allow baby to move about freely.

4.  Fitted: Though adjustable and flexible, Monster Bunz pants fit snugly.  No baggy, extra fabric to get in the way of an active baby!

5.  Roomy Rear: Perfect for cloth diapered bums, and equally effective for the non-cloth crowd.

6.  Well-made: Our Monster Bunz have held up well through many spills, washings and wearings.  I’m thrilled that they still look just as adorable as when they first arrived.

I’m so delighted to have found adorable, well-made pants that fit so well over Baby Brother’s fluffy rear.  We love our Dinosaur Monster Bunz from Cinderkitten!

Now I’m eyeing the red and gray striped Monster Bunz
