Hazelaid Teething Jewelry {Discount & Giveaway}

Several of you have noticed Baby Brother’s teething necklace and have asked where it’s from. Good news: today I’ll fill you in on our experience with teething jewelry!
Hazelwood vs. Amber
Over the course of about four months, we’ve experimented with three types of teething necklaces:
Our favorite was the hazelwood, followed by hazelwood + baltic amber.
This was the first necklace we tried.
According to the folks at Hazelaid, hazelwood can be helpful for acid-related concerns such as reflux, eczema, rashes, and teething pain exacerbated by acid. Since Baby Brother struggled quite a bit with reflux, we chose hazelwood over baltic amber.

Did It Work?
Overall, we did notice less spitting up with the hazelwood necklace.
I’m still not positive it helped with teething…it’s so hard to know how it would have been without the necklace! Baby Brother’s teething hasn’t been terrible, but it hasn’t been completely smooth sailing, either.
Our main goal was to improve overnight sleeping (please!), but we didn’t notice a dramatic improvement in that arena….
This was the third necklace we tried, and the one Baby Brother is currently wearing.
Except for a few instances where we’d had several rough nights and then we made sure to soak the necklace, or we gave him a new necklace, and then he slept amazingly that night. Interesting, right?
Which brings me to another point: I think it’s really, really important to get the hazelwood necklaces wet at least every other day. Hazelaid mentions this in their literature, but that fact somehow escaped me for about the first month of use. Sleep deprivation does that to you, folks.
I can say that when we diligently soak the necklace more often, I notice better results. But in all honesty, Baby Brother doesn’t bathe every other day. Let’s just say that our standards have loosened a bit with baby #3…

Britt–The necklaces all come equipped with safety clasps which are designed to release when pressure is applied. This did actually happen to a friend of a friend of mine, and the safety clasp did release and open the necklace. The necklaces can also be wrapped around the ankle during nap times. Hope that helps!

Awesome! In that case I may have to get one, I have a 13.5 month old with no teeth yet, so I’m betting when those puppies come in, it’s going to be hard and fast, my poor baby!
