These easy Burger Bowls feature seasoned ground beef, crispy oven fries, fresh toppings, and a simple house sauce. Ready in about 30 minutes and fully customizable for every eater at the table.

Ingredients

Scale

Burgers

Salad bowls

  • Shredded lettuce (I like romaine for plenty of crunch but use whatever lettuce you prefer or have on hand.)
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Diced pickles (use crunchy dill pickles–my favorite brand and my homemade pickles recipe).

Fries

  • About one potato per person (two per person for smaller potatoes or hungrier clientele)
  • 1-2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons organic season salt, or to taste

House sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayo (I use homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Instructions

  1. Start by getting the fries into the oven first, since they take the longest. Preheat the oven to 400°F (convection if you have it). Slice the potatoes lengthwise, then cut into medium-thin fries. Toss them in a large bowl with avocado oil and seasoned salt, then spread on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crisp, about 20 minutes.
  2. While the fries cook, heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Remove the ground beef from the packaging while keeping it intact. Lay it across your open palm, season the exposed side, then place it seasoned-side down into the hot skillet. Season the top side and cook until roughly halfway done. Flip with a spatula, then use the spatula to slice the beef into 4–6 sections. Continue cooking until it reaches your preferred doneness.
  3. As the beef finishes, quickly stir together the house sauce by combining mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and a minced garlic clove. Adjust to taste.
  4. Next, prep the fresh toppings. Shred the lettuce, dice the tomatoes, and chop the pickles so everything is ready for quick assembly.
  5. Finally, assemble the Burger Bowls. Start with a generous layer of shredded lettuce, add one or two sections of the cooked beef, sprinkle on diced tomatoes and pickles, add a serving of hot fries, and drizzle with house sauce.
  6. Serve immediately while everything is warm and crisp.
